Dr. G Gowoonsesang Brightening Balm Review

Dr. G Gowoonsesang Brightening Balm  Review

Hi Everyone!

I would like to share my favorite bb cream as of the moment!

This is the Dr. G Gowoonsesang  Brightening Balm. I got it from Kkochipida for only P585. I bought it last October pa but I only opened it last December since I was still finishing my previous Dr. G bb cream.

Im actually on my second tube so I guess it's time for me to finally review this bb cream.

Based on the ingredients, it contains paraben. It doesn't bother me anyway since I apply at least 3 skincare products on my face whenever I do my makeup.

Packaging: Comes in a squeeze tube which is the common packaging for bb creams. I'm not a fan of this particular packaging because it gets quite messy after a while.  The product accumulates on the cap (eew!). To avoid products accumulating at the cap, I suggest that you store it cap side up. As this avoids the bb cream from developing water-like fluid inside based on my experience. It comes with 45ml of product. This will last about 8-10 months with everyday use.

Scent: The scent is subtle and nice. It smells like baby lotions. The smell immediately fades upon application.

Shade: The bb cream comes in 1 shade. However, this bb cream oxidizes about half shade darker when not set with powder.  if you are familiar with the Missha Perfect Cover BB ream (natural beige) they are similar in shade, the only difference is, the missha one has a grayish cast, while the Dr. G has more of a slightly pinkish neutral undertone.

Coverage: The coverage is medium for a bb cream. This bb cream is buildable. If you have small blemishes, 2 coats of this bb cream will do. The consistency of this bb cream is just normal. Not too runny, not too thick. This is okay to use on the undereye area. 1 pea size of product is already enough to cover the whole face.

This is how it looks when it sets.

Application

As you can see, it did cover my redness

This bb cream has by far the most natural looking finish among all the bb creams that I've tried, . I really hate bb creams na nagbubuo buo after setting with powder. Yung tipong kapag nagset na tapos nagalaw lang ng konti while applying blush e nagiging patchy siya or nag gagather. This one, kahit nagset na siya if you still want to blend i t, okay lang. magbeblend pa rin siya basta hindi pa naseset ng powder.

Oil Control and LongevityI have oily face, that's why I always use setting powders or else my makeup will slide off in just 3 hours. There was one time I forgot to use powder, the only powder on my face was the blush and bronzer, tumagal yung makeup ko until umuwi ako. And I only blotted once. I also noticed that I don't blot when i use this bb cream.

This bb cream adheres quite good on the skin. But, I noticed that this bb cream melts in warm weather. Lalo na kung pawisin ka at may oil factory sa muka tulad ko.

Finish: Finish is matte. i really like the finish of this bb cream because it looks natural. Even though it's matte, it makes my skin glow a little bit. It also minimizes large pores. And as far as my acne is concern, it actually hides flaky skin. I dont find myself plucking those nasty flakes with this bb cream.

What I like:

-minimizes large pores
-adheres to the skin
-matte
-covers my blemishes
-doesn't break me out
-good oil control
-doesn't look cakey

What I hate:

-squeeze tube packaging
-comes only in one shade

Will I repurchase? Yes! This is my favorite bb cream as of the moment. I'm currently on my 2rd tube.

REVIEW: SKIN79 Intense Classic Balm The Premium BB Cream

SKIN79 Intense Classic Balm The Premium BB Cream

picture taken from HipStyle Online Shop where I bought it.

Packaging (2/5)
Comes in a squeeze tube, common packaging for bb creams I guess. Quite messy. Some product accumulates in the cap.

Price (5/5)
I got it for P595 from HipStyle Online Shop. Quite a steal eh?  I think the price is fair for  43.5 g of product.

Scent (3/5)
The scent is mild and nice just like other bb creams of SKIN79.

Shade (4/5)

The bb cream comes only in 1 shade. I didn't notice any oxidation but it's close to my shade. It's just a bit lighter than my skin.

Coverage (3/5)
The coverage is medium. The consistency of this bb cream is quite thick and when used alone, can cover dark under eye circles, blemishes and dark spots.

The thing I really don't like in this bb cream is that, it feels  heavy on the skin. It feels like it's clogging my pores. :(

Finish (4/5)
Finish is matte.

Longevity (4/5)
This bb cream adheres quite good on the skin. But, I noticed that this bb cream melts in warm weather so I just use it during cold days.
So for warm weather, it's 2/5 but for cold days it's 4/5

Overall score: 3.6/5
compared to other SKIN79 like the hot pink, oriental gold and diamond bb creams, this one is the thickest and harder to blend. Since the coverage is quite heavy, I just use it as a concealer on top of other bb creams.

REVIEW: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit (Honey Beige-W24)

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Bright Fit - Honey Beige

picture taken from HipStyle Online Shop where I bought it.

Packaging (5/5)
I really like the packaging of this bb cream. A tube, with a pump AND a cover-- very hygienic for me.

This really is a plus for me since I don't want my skincare products getting messy. I don't know, I feel like they're already spoiled when they get messy. And I don't use them anymore if that's the case.

Anyways, back to the review.

Because of its packaging, no product gets wasted. You can control the amount of product that comes out of the pump. I'm not sure how the pump works (I'm too lazy to do my research haha) but I noticed that no air  enters the tube. I think I have used much of this product because the tube already has a dent on it.

Price (5/5)
Originally, The price of it from  Etude House stores is P798 but I got it for only P690 from HipStyle Online Shop. I think the price is very affordable since you get 70ml of product.

Scent (2.5/5)
The scent is OK. I neither like it nor hate it. The smell is subtle and fades after application. It smells like Aloe Vera with a little bit of fragrance.

Shade (2/5)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to correctly assess my skin tone on this one. Honey Beige is a bit dark on my face, after it oxidizes. Btw, I'm an NC 20-25 (mac), depends on the weather.

Also, I bought some samples of this bb cream in Natural Beige (W13) online and it didn't suit me as well. It gives me a mild whitish cast in my face.

Anyways, I just mixed the two whenever I wear it.

Btw. W13 doesn't have a grayish undertone. :)

Coverage (1.5/5) and Finish (4/5)
The coverage is sheer but build-able. It doesn't cover my blemishes and acne scars BUT, It makes my skin look smooth, dewy, and reduce the size of my pores. Also, it doesn't feel heavy on the face.

The moisturizing power of this bb cream is just right for NORMAL skin type.

Longevity (2.5/5)
I have a combination skin and the product does really well on the sides of my cheeks (dry). But after 3-4 hours, I can see that the product is really melting in my T-zone. I don't always use powder since I prefer a dewy finish but when I use a finishing powder (Elf HD powder), It starts to melt after 5 hours.

Overall score: 3.2/5
This product is great, but for a bb cream, it's not (it's more like a tinted moisturizer than a bb cream). I will repurchase this after I finish my current one. I find this bb cream ideal for regular and lazy days since it gives you a healthy and dewy complexion and the application is really easy. Also, it doesn't clog your pores and you can't really feel it just sitting on the skin.

Typically, korean bb creams are only available in 1-2 shades, this bb cream comes in 4 shades (yey!).
  • NO2- light beige
  • W13- natural beige
  • W24- honey beige
  • W15- sand beige
